HEROIC’s Dota Successes Continue at BLAST Slam IV

HEROIC Dota 2 continued their hot streak over the weekend as they secured themselves a playoffs berth in BLAST Slam IV, their fourth in a row, and a trip to the Singapore Indoor Stadium. It’s no exaggeration to say that right now, we have the most entertaining team in Dota (even if our sources are a little biased)!

Over the course of 11 group stage matches, HEROIC ended with an impressive 7-4 record and a 3rd place finish overall. Some of their highlights included a win over tournament favourites in Falcons, wielding a 6-man roster with Roshan against BetBoom and coming back so many times with ridiculous endgame resilience! The squad looks fantastic with Wisper nailing his transition to the midlane and Davai slotting cleanly back into the lineup. Everyone’s efforts combined ensure that each game is absolute cinema with their unrelentingly aggressive playstyle!

These 11 matches culminated in a single, elimination BO3 against Team Liquid who we were now playing for the third time in two weeks. And game 1 was sheer dominance from HEROIC. Despite the analysts stating we had the weaker draft, Liquid struggled with their fundamentals resulting in them calling gg at 34 minutes. The following game was arguably the most exciting match of the tournament.

With a strong showing throughout the match, Liquid have a 14k gold lead at 43 minutes and mega creeps shortly after. Words alone cannot describe the madness that unfurls next so I can only encourage you to watch the match highlights from here for yourself… And now that you’re back from watching the most exciting game of the tournament, we took down Liquid for the third time in a row to bag ourselves another arena playoffs out in Singapore!
