HEROIC Esports has formed an all-Iraqi PUBG Mobile team, set to compete in the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) EMEA from September 18 to October 13 in Katowice, Poland. QiCard and EGi have partnered with HEROIC Esports to back this team and rally the Iraqi esports community behind it.
“At HEROIC, we love to see local talent crush the competition and thrive, and with QiCard and EGi by our side, we know that we will showcase Iraq’s best of the best in a big way,” said Krystian Jaroszynski, Chief Commercial Officer at HEROIC Esports.
QiGroup’s support is more than sponsorship; it's a commitment to putting Iraqi esports on the global map. Hasan Hadi, Gaming Business Director at QiGroup, who initiated the partnership, shared, “We want to bring Iraq’s exceptional gaming talent to the world stage, and this collaboration with HEROIC Esports is a key step toward that goal.”
Beyond this partnership, QiGroup has made substantial investments in Iraq's gaming and esports sectors, helping build an ecosystem that serves over 9 million gamers. Ahmed Kadhim, Chief Investment Officer at QiGroup, added, “Our vision goes beyond individual partnerships. We're investing in long-term growth, creating infrastructure and opportunities that enable Iraqi gamers to thrive in a competitive global market.”
The team will be rocking QiCard and EGi logos on their jerseys, looking sharp while dominating the servers. And when it’s time for victory celebrations, they’ll be swiping their QiCard to cover those expenses—because why not show off its awesome cross-border functionality? Robin Nymann, Head of Esports at HEROIC, said, “This partnership empowers Iraqi gamers, giving them the platform to perform on the global stage.”
HEROIC players are super stoked to play in the EGi eLeague and create awesome exclusive content for Iraqi fans. Mohammed AlMola, Gaming & Esports Director at QiGroup, stated, “This partnership is a huge milestone for Iraqi esports. We’re not just supporting a team—we’re laying the foundation for an ecosystem that will nurture talent for years to come. It all started here, future legends!"
Abdallah Tayel, Head of Gaming Strategy & Planning at QiGroup, echoed the sentiment: “Our goal is to bring Iraqi gamers together, and this partnership with HEROIC is a major step in supporting that vision.”
Together, QiCard, EGi, and HEROIC Esports are leveling up Iraq’s esports game, starting with the all-Iraqi team ready to kick ass and take names at the PMSL EMEA which will begin today!
