Danish Shuffle – North and Heroic switch players

Heroic today announces that Daniel ‘mertz’ Mertz will stand-in for Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen who will be on a loan-out spell at Danish competitors North until October.

The agreement with mertz is preliminarily a two-month deal and Director of Sports, Kasper Hvidt, representing Heroic, is looking forward to experience mertz in practice and official matches in a RFRSH context.

– Heroic has been looking for a main AWPer since JUGi was sold. When North approached us, and following our background check on mertz’ personality, style, abilities and motivation, we did not have any doubts. Through a longer period of time, he has shown a steady and high level at we’re looking most forward to start on both practice and matches with mertz in the Heroic line-up the coming months.

– Simultaneously, it’s a positive thing for us to give niko the chance to perform with north and in the surroundings and possibilities they offer. He’s a great player and I truly believe that North will be happy to bring him on board.

Daniel ‘mertz’ Mertz is looking forward to try himself out in the RFRSH setup and in his new surroundings:

– It’s a new step and a very exciting chapter for me in a setup that I really think it will help me improve and become an even better player. Heroic and RFRSH will give me the opportunity to continue my work on the things that I’ve learned at North and I truly believe that we, the team and the management, can fulfill my own and my teammates’ ambitions.

– I would like to thank North for the time I’ve spend with them and for the opportunity to play at the highest level. I will work incredibly hard to improve from here on onwards and I’m excited to show that I can #BeHeroic in the new surroundings.

Niko ‘niko’ Kristensen is also looking forward to his challenge:

– I’m happy to get to test myself in new surroundings and I simultaneously hope and wish the best for Heroic. In many ways, this is a special transfer and I have only good things left to say about Heroic and RFRSH. On the other hand is a good thing for me to enter a new group. North is one of the best teams in Denmark and a team with great ambitions. In that sense, it’s now far from what I’m coming from but I’m excited about this new challenge.

– I would like to use this occasion to send my thanks to everybody at RFRSH and Heroic and I’m looking forward to see everybody again this fall. Now is the time for something new, at least for the coming period. I’m happy that RFRSH and North together have given me this opportunity.
